Former Minister of Information and Ex DG of the National Association for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Dora Akunyili has died in a hospital in India.
Prof. Akunyili which had been diagnosed with a postrate cancer disease two years ago, has been critically ill, but soon made a good recovery, and resumed duties as a delegate in the National conference, before breaking down again and was rushed to India to cintinue treatment.
Leadership Newspaper had reported that she was on life support and then last Saturday wrote that she was dead, but her Media SA, debunked her death rumours through an update on Facebook, but Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has 35 minutes ago, confirmed this story, and said she died at 10:00AM this morning in India.
She died at the age of 59.
