The Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) has instituted a monthly
think-tank programme known as Diplomatic Dialogue Series (DDS), with the maiden
edition holding at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos, on September
10.
Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria,
Mr. Rangaiah Ghanashyam, is the expected guest of the maiden series, which is
expected to draw participation from corporate Nigeria, government, civil
society, academic and diplomatic missions.

Oyinlola disclosed that DDS has the capacity to facilitate “new
vistas of opportunities for trade and commerce; foster better bilateral
cooperation and understanding; facilitate prospects for exchange, linkage
programmes and shared learning. The DDS, he said, also “provides a
credible and sustainable forum for information sharing and create a new
platform for cultivating productive friendships.”
In his remarks, the program director of the initiative, Mr.
Anthony Ubani, said, DDS is a monthly breakfast that was aimed at strengthening
bilateral relations with the international community with a view to deepening
the country’s socio-economic position.
“It is a platform for interaction with the ambassadors of other
countries to in Nigeria and a forum for networking for the purpose of business
relationships and catalytic investments. The DDS creates a sustainable forum
for the leaders of corporate Nigeria, public service leaders, NLI
fellows/associates, senior government officials, the academia, policy makers
and the media to engage interact and share ideas with diplomats,” Ubani added.
NLI is a platform through which credible, accomplished and
patriotic Nigerians develop and express values-based skills with the view of
grooming future leaders.
