TOP 10 APPS THAT WILL BENEFIT YOUR LIFE

In a technology driven world we use our mobile devices, tablets and PCs on a daily basis. Each device features a variety of programs, apps, and services that ultimately make life a little easier. With a multitude of apps, featured on a variety of app stores, it is sometimes hard to sift through the garbage in order to find apps that are truly beneficial. Thankfully, you won’t need to sift through anything as IT News Africa has, in no particular order, found 10 apps that will benefit your life.
1. Discovery Insure
The Discovery Insure app monitors the way drive and indicates whether you are speeding, breaking too harshly, and even detects the movement of your phone. If the app detects that you are neglecting the rules of the road you will essentially earn fewer points than other people who have the app installed. Furthermore, you also stand a chance to win some terrific prizes just for driving carefully.
How will this app benefit your life? Over the past few weeks I have used this app and I have discovered that not only do I drive a lot better, but I also don’t use my phone while driving. This allows me, and many others like me, to concentrate on the road ahead. Feel free to give it a try and to check to see if your driving improves over the next month.

2. Google Translate
Ever needed a personal translator while away on a business trip? Well, Google Translate has you covered. Google Translate allows you to basically convert any spoken sentence and translate it into around 64 different languages. So if you are ever lost in Paris, Nigeria, or Argentina you can simply say what you need to say and translate it into the local language of the country you are visiting. Additionally, the app features a Conversation Mode for speech-to-speech translation, allowing two people without a common language to pass the phone back and forth and communicate.

3. Evernote
If you haven’t heard of Evernote before, then let’s give you the breakdown. Evernote is an app that helps you organise your thoughts, notes and photos into lists. Planning a conference? Take a picture, record a note-to-self or clip of an article from the web that inspires you. Later, you can search for your items by keywords – even the text within pictures is searchable.
If you tend to lose business cards, or just want to keep track of them, then you can simply snap a photo of each card and search for them when you truly need to get in touch with your new contact. Evernote can catalogue your lists and crucial details all in one place, which will ultimately change the way you do things as well as keep you more productive without having to fumble about looking for details you may have misplaced.

4. Moves
Sitting in the office can take its toll on you; however, there is a way to track your movement just in case you feel like you have not been too active during the work week. Moves automatically records any walking and running that you do… It even records any cycling as well. You can view the distance, duration, steps, and calories burned for each activity.
Essentially the app is always on, which means you won’t need to start and stop it. Just remember to keep your phone in your pocket or bag in order to keep track of your daily activity.

5. 1Password
We all have social media accounts, email accounts, online bank accounts and so on; however, what is the one thing each platform has in common? Password protection! No matter what you do these days you will need to secure accounts, devices and social media profiles with a rather strong password. But how does one remember so many passwords? Generally most people tend to use the same password for everything. This is not the safest option as once hackers gain access to one account, they will soon try to login into your online banking or social media profiles. 1Password creates strong, unique passwords for every site, remembers them all for you, and logs you in with a single tap. It’s the best way to stay secure and the fastest way to use the web.
