VODACOM NAMED OFFICIAL SAMSUNG KNOX RESELLER

Vodacom has been appointed as the official KNOX reseller by Samsung South Africa. The reseller agreement is expected to enable the service provider to offer its clients a seamless experience, providing a single point of contact for KNOX licenses and Samsung enterprise services.
As mobile communications become more important to business, it has never been more challenging to keep company data and devices safe and secure. The combination of Vodacom’s expertise in mobile communications together with carefully selected security partners provide a constantly evolving range of services to protect customer’s mobile communications.
Introduced locally six months ago, the mobile platform for enterprise continues to evolve the offering to protect and respond to the dynamic enterprise mobility and security challenges. “We are delighted to have Vodacom join our Samsung KNOX reseller programme, as the first mobile telecommunications company to offer Samsung KNOX licenses to customers,” said Paulo Ferreira, Head of Enterprise Mobility at Samsung SA.

This strategic alliance will offer clients a full range of devices and services designed for the enterprise, including suites to support customers through the entire lifecycle of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and other mobile device deployments by the corporate.
Fatima Hassim, Executive Head of Enterprise Mobility at Vodacom said, “We’re pleased to include Samsung KNOX in our mobile security product portfolio. Being the first operator in South Africa to provide KNOX licenses shows our determination to provide the most comprehensive suite of safe and secure mobile tools. This is another example of Vodacom providing Ready Business solutions that prepare our customers for the unforeseen.”
As an authorised reseller of KNOX licenses, Vodacom and Samsung will provide a mobile solution for work and play to organisations and their employees.
This agreement follows the awarding of Common Criteria Certification (CCC) on KNOX embedded devices, the highest level of security “gold standard” for secure and trusted systems. The evolution of KNOX enables workforces to easily separate work and personal lives on their mobile devices, while giving organisations enhanced security at all levels of the Android platform.
Vodacom’s enterprise customers will be able to enjoy the productivity benefits of using a ‘work phone’ wherever they are, without having to carry two separate devices. They will be able to create separate personal and work environments on their devices with encrypted work data, protected by password and fingerprint verification.
The enhanced security capabilities of KNOX will be available to Vodacom’s enterprise customers on a wide range of the Samsung devices such as GALAXY S5, S4, S4 Mini, Note 3, Note 2, Mega, Note 10.1 (2014) and Note Pro 12.2.
“As enterprises address the strategic imperative of digitising their business and securing their information assets, Samsung is able to offer a full range of secure, integrated and cost effective solutions to accelerate business transformation,” concludes Ferreira.
